Lecture 9 - Homework - Developing two concepts towards a resolved final

Poster 1 -

Developments:

I have read the wording here and similar to what was discussed in one of my early critiques this says that we need this, not that we have it and that we want to celebrate this fact.
I will re-word this. It works with the designs of the children wearing school uniform an also the use of the colour really gives the poster a child like feel, even as if the children were drawn onto the page. The colours being really bold and bright means my poster will really stand out against other posters.

Better wording:

The use of Logos is most importance when you read the factual information which convinces viewers that New Zealand is a good place with a good education system.
There is also a small use of Pathos as you see the children and react the the message about them, but the majority of this argument in this poster is Logos.

Looking at all the colour schemes and colour combinations - continuing developing layout

I believe the best colour combination is either the orange or the dark blue previously used, these posters stand out over the others and the words really come forward in those ideas.

Selected development of poster 1:

This poster development is much more advanced than the dull concept I had in class, the colours are stronger and the use of the uniforms with school bags ties the theme down to school children specifically, addressing what I was critiqued about with the children looking like a diversity advertisement.
The use of the large text over the complimentary coloured background really makes an impact and expresses through the ideas of us celebrating New Zealand's education system.
The layout works nicely and there is a large amount of negative space between the text and the illustrations.
The ideas surrounding ihi wehi and the techniques this is working are the same as previous.

Poster 2 -

Developments:

This second development I have used Matt's critique ideas and really developed the eyes to be different and look more interesting, I think with the use of the overlaying illustrations and the different textures it represents education more than sight or blind.

The Ihi of this poster is the eyes drawing viewers in with the strong words you can read sparking Wehi a reaction of curiosity wondering and thinking what does this poster mean and what is it about.

Reflection on both posters:

The colour schemes of my two posters also go together well, they are two very different concepts of different styles but together they have the same colour - scheme linking them on another level to just the same theme.
