Lecture 5 - Homework - Further conceptual ideas

Concept ideas - New concept ideas:

Using the presidents and compositions I found previously I have used the ideas there to make an interpretation of my own using the symbolism of the pen with a pencil and an apple on top representing equality and fairness as the composition is balanced and equal in the middle. The clean colour of green represents education as well.

This second poster I have used the noun project to find some various illustrations of children which I have therefore used as a representation of all children with the words free education for all, and equal rights. To express that all children no matter who they are or where they're from have the same rights. The colour scheme is very playful with colours that children often relate to, also mostly gender neutral colours showing that these children could be anyone. This idea I have used the ihi of the children and the wehi of the emotions people react to children to really portray my idea in this poster.

This is a very simplistic illustrative poster that represents a child and it doesn't matter what or who the child is as we cannot tell, but with the simplistic words saying you will be born with equal rights you can understand what the poster is saying that everyone is equal to one another. I think this poster really plays on people emotions with the use of pregnancy being such a strong topic and good way to communicate a symbol of a child existing not knowing anything about the child.

I am working now in a very illustrative way, my very initial concepts were using photographs but now I have moved on to designing with shapes and compositions to create some different ideas and compositions. I like the compositions of this poster and the use of the parents/adults to guide the child in the right direction the arms are a representation of education and education being there for everyone, free of cost. The poster relies on emotions to feel comfort in this poster as we see the government does look after our New Zealand children.

I have used typography to shape the image with a women and a baby and the worlds "Free education for every child" as the lady holds up a baby. This poster expresses the idea of the women holding up a child and it doesn't matter who the child is but it has free education and this moment is an exciting moment.. Although this is an idea, I don't believe using type like this is that successful and feel as though its very messy and you cannot actually read the type, so don't believe I will be taking this concept any further.

Development of critiqued poster:

After that image being a photo I believe it may be a cool idea to take this image into an illustration and more of a playful style that a child would relate to. I am going to use the Noun project's symbols to create something similar and along the same ideas as the previous making more developmental concepts from the one focused idea.

This is an illustrative version of my first concept. This is an idea but I believe the photo with the original is a stronger conceptual idea than this illustrative version as it looks too 'fake'.
